How the Commission Advance Fee Estimate Works

The current iCommission website calculator estimates the fee as (advance amount in CAD / 1,000) x number of days + CAD 120. This result is the estimated fee, not the advance amount or a total repayment figure. It is a planning estimate; the team confirms actual pricing and terms after reviewing the application.

What goes into the calculation?

Estimated fee = (advance amount / 1,000) x days + 120. The calculator does not approve the requested advance or determine the final contract terms.

  • Advance amount: the amount of commission you would like to access early, expressed in CAD.
  • Number of days: the expected period from the advance to repayment. Use a whole number of days.
  • Variable fee: the advance amount divided by 1,000, multiplied by the number of days.
  • Base fee: CAD 120 is added to the variable fee in the current calculator.

What does that look like in dollars?

For a $5,000 advance over 45 days, the variable fee is $225. Adding the $120 base fee gives an estimated fee of $345. These examples show the calculator's formula, not offers of funding.

Illustrative calculator estimates, all amounts in CAD
Advance / daysCalculationEstimated fee
$5,000 / 30 days(5,000 / 1,000) x 30 + 120$270.00
$5,000 / 45 days(5,000 / 1,000) x 45 + 120$345.00
$10,000 / 60 days(10,000 / 1,000) x 60 + 120$720.00

What happens when the amount or time changes?

A larger amount or longer period increases the estimate. For example, changing a $5,000 estimate from 30 to 45 days adds $75 to the calculated fee.

If an actual closing date changes, ask the team how the signed agreement applies. Do not use this planning formula to assume an extension charge, late-payment charge or revised contractual repayment amount.

What does the calculator not confirm?

The iCommission team reviews the transaction, commission information, supporting documents and brokerage confirmation before confirming a quote. Review the written quote and agreement for the final fee and all amounts payable.

  • Whether the transaction or requested amount is eligible.
  • A funding date or automatic approval.
  • The final amount received, total repayment or applicable contractual adjustments.
  • Any change to the signed agreement if closing is delayed.

Common questions

Is the calculator result the fee or the money advanced?

It is the estimated fee. For a $5,000 advance over 45 days, the formula gives an estimated fee of $345. The advance amount and any contractual repayment figures are separate.

Is the website estimate a binding quote?

No. It is a planning estimate, not an approval, offer or contract. iCommission confirms final eligibility, pricing, terms and funding after review.

Can I use the calculator if I am not ready to apply?

Yes. The public Advance Calculator does not require an application. You can explore amounts and periods before deciding to contact the team or start an application.
